
While the iPad mini is currently advertised as shipping with a week-long delay all over the world, supply chain sources say that the actual number of tablets shipped in the fourth quarter was much lower than initially expected. Instead of the 10-12 million units mentioned in the original forecast, only 8 million were delivered to their owners. According to DigiTimes, some countries only had a very limited supply of the new 7.9-inch model for the Christmas shopping period.
