Apple restricts the way third party browsers can interact with the iOS. Chrome being a third party browser is incapable of using the super-Fast Nitro java script engine. This is probably the reason Facebook works really slow on Chrome in iPads. Mobile Safari being on its home ground has no such restrictions.
