According to French website MacGeneration, Apple is planning to launch the long-awaited Mac Pro refresh as soon as this spring. The company’s decision to reveal the release window for the next-gen desktop likely comes as an attempt to smooth out concerns over the fact that it will cease offering the current model in Europe starting March 1st. As explained in an earlier report, the Mac maker was forced to pull the Mac Pro from sale due to new safety standards the machine’s components don’t comply with.

As newly reported by Macworld, Apple has informed its European retail partners that it will no longer sell the Mac Pro starting March 1st. The new rule affects all 27 EU countries, including the U.K., Germany and France, and the four EFTA countries – Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Although the device won’t be available directly through Apple, the company’s resellers will have the ability to sell the remaining supply after the enforcement date.
