In the September quarter, iOS ceded some ground to Android in terms of smartphone market share, prompting Charlie Wolf with Needham & Co. to suggest Google’s OS is gradually moving to dominate the entire segment. While accounting for 64.1% of all handsets sold in the second quarter, Android saw this figure grow to 72.4% by end of the fall.
