iOS 6 beta, first made available for developers after the annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference that took place in San Francisco from June 11 to June 15, has received an update. It is distributed wirelessly and is intended for the fourth-generation iPod touch, iPhone 3GS and iPad 2 as well as the later models. This beta version has a build number of 10A5338d, while the previous one was registered under 10A5316k. The actual update is approximately 330MB download for the owners of the iPhone 4S. The original iOS 6 beta release was paired with iTunes 10.6.3 for developers and Xcode 4.5 preview. This time the Cupertino giant revealed the Xcode 4.5 Developer Preview 2, as well as Apple TV Software beta 2.

Apple TV updated to support 1080p, said to sell for $99 starting March 16

Alongside the third-gen iPad, Apple unveiled a new Apple TV with improved interface and 1080 p video support. While previously users could only stream TV shows, the update also allows to stream movies obtained on iTunes via iCloud. The new hardware also brought in first 1080p iTunes movies in the history of the service. The company has also added iTunes Match support, Genius movie recommendations and improved Photo Stream to automatically display new pictures with no user interaction required.

New virus, labeled as “Flashback.G”, seems to have gotten Apple’s machines. It’s an account hijacker that disguises itself as a piece of legitimate flash software, and it’s very convincing to the unsuspecting victim. Targets of the virus have reported that programs such as Skype and Safari have witnessed a heavy increase in crash rate, and that the malicious software is identifiable as a Java application running in the background.
