Evernote has updated its cooking and dining app, Evernote Food, to version 2.1, adding Foursquare ratings and OpenTable reservations. With Foursquare integration, users can check the rating of the venue they are planning to visit before going there, while OpenTable support allows them to book tables at restaurants right within the app. Besides, the software offers new sharing options: recipes can now be shared via email, Facebook or Twitter, and the company has implemented new tag-based syncing capabilities. Users can also add recipes saved to Evernote to My Cookbook in Evernote Food using a specified tag or notebook.

A Russian hacker has invented a comparatively simple way to bypass in-app purchase mechanism on a number of iOS applications, allowing users to get the content they are supposed to pay for free of charge, 9to5Mac reports. To take advantage of the method, users have to install a couple of certificates on their device and use a custom DNS entry. After making in-app purchases, they are automatically redirected via the hacked system. No jailbreaking is needed.
