That can clearly be seen from Phil Schiller’s recent comments, which started last week with a tweet cautioning people to beware Android security threats highlighted by F-Secure. Then, ahead of the Galaxy S4 unveiling, Apple’s marketing head described Android as “fragmented” to Reuters and The Wall Street Journal and suggested that Android owners were left far less satisfied than iPhone users. He also took on a wide range of Android devices available, saying that Apple’s example shows that putting out products in large numbers isn’t a key to success.

iOS Reportedly Taking Away Enterprise Market Share from Android

According to recent data from Egnyte, the share of iOS in the enterprise market is gradually increasing, while the number of corporate Android users keeps shrinking. Until recently, Google’s mobile operating system had been controlling a steady 30% of the segment. Another 70% of the traffic was represented by iOS devices, led by the iPhone. In the September and December quarters of 2011, the iPhone and iPad accounted for 28% and 40% of enterprise traffic, respectively. Those figures changed slightly during 2012, when the iPhone grew to 42% and the iPad dropped to 27%.

As revealed in a fresh story published by the Huffington Post, Verizon was planning to make Siri exclusive to the Android platform before Apple purchased the voice assistant. The carrier reportedly inked a deal with Siri way earlier than the iPhone maker obtained the company – in the fall of 2009.

According to the agreement, the speech recognition technology was supposed to become a built-in app for Android-based handsets on Verizon’s network. The software would come preinstalled on all devices running Google’s mobile operating system starting 2010.

iOS Beats Android in U.S. Smartphone Sales at 51%

According to fresh Kantar statistics, iOS is still ahead of Android, at least on Apple’s home turf. In the December quarter, the iPhone accounted for 51.2% of U.S. smartphone shipments, with Android coming in second at 44.8%. With the two platforms continuing to vie for dominance in the American handset market, Microsoft’s Windows Phone was only left 2.6% to grab. iOS also performed well in Japan, where it is reportedly preferred by two-thirds of local handset owners.
