Advertising new iPad as 4G in Australia will cost Apple AU$2.25 million

Apple has reached a settlement with the Australian regulator over the false 4G iPad advertisement and is now bound to pay an AU$2.25 million penalty to the ACCC. Aside from that amount, the company is also anticipated to pay AU$300,000 toward the commission’s legal fees. The ACCC representative Colin Golvan called the penalty “substantial” and expressed hope that it would help to undo the harm done by the misleading promotion.
