A big announcement is not coming along with big changes in Apple’s camp today. Bob Mansfield is leaving his post and going on pension, which he has clearly deserved after being loyal for years to the company he started working for long before it has grown its enormous popularity – 1999. Bob Mansfield was a vice president, someone Apple could really count on, but even the best should finally get their rest and enjoy their retirement. Apple is making its own to make Mansfield feeling protected and missed, but they already know who is going to replace him on the post, Dan Riccio – the vice president from another wing of Apple. Dan Riccio has been working in Apple not less than Mansfield, but in the sphere of iPad hardware engineering. It is also known that he is going to be on the post for short period of time, till the company is going to look for the proper replacement, so that Riccio could go back to his duties in the field he is used to.
The changing of posts is not something that happens in Apple every day, so these kinds of things do not remain unnoticed by the press, but changes are not going to actually change any structure there. Apple has not lost a lot of their senior vice presidents in latest years, but the retirement in Apple’s camp is not single even lately. Betsey Rafael, which has been doing corporate controlling, principal accounting and VP at the same time is also stopping working for Apple on October 19, current year. Betsey Rafael has been working for since 2007, so it would be a major loss for Apple as well.
